Hippie, Boho, or Just Another Music Festival?

IMG_6543IMG_6532Coachella may just have ended, but the festival’s end marks the beginning of the seemingly endless parade ofΒ  outdoor music festivals that have jumped in popularity over the last few years. In Vancouver, we now have two major ones: Squamish and Pemberton Music Festival. Both have distinct acts with some major headliners, including Eminem, Bruno Mars, and Arcade Fire at Squamish Fest and Outkast, Frank Ocean, Kendrick Lamar, and Deadmau5 at Pemberton. That we now have two huge festivals with such major acts is bewildering to me, but I’m not complaining. I just didn’t realize that Vancouver was big enough to qualify for two different music festivals, each with massively popular artists. While I personally want to see Frank Ocean and Arcade Fire the most, sadly, I have to save my money for New York. Well, I guess that’s not so sad. Plus, I’m already going to the Childish Gambino concert in a few weeks! Pity me, for I have no woes to be pitied. The music festivals have not only been influential in the music world, but the fashion world as well. Coachella suddenly gave everyone a reason to dress like modern hippies with braids, fringe, and flower crowns. Dressing for a music festival now has a distinct style, which I tried to emulate, without, well, looking like an asshole. I mean, seriously. Some people just look like they came to the festival just to play dress-up than for the actual music.

Regardless, happy weekend everyone! And thanks to my brother for taking the impromptu photos before the rain started again.

Love your look. Especially the neck piece πŸ™‚

  2. It’s funny because festivals are now so glamourised they just make no sense to me, hahah. When I go to one, I wear band tees,no accesories, hair in a bun, and old shorts or something. Maybe it’s because I go to rock/metal gigs? πŸ˜› anyway you look gorgeous as always, you can definitely rock the boho chic style πŸ™‚

Way to make the festival look an everyday look without it being too dirty or bohemian πŸ™‚ Could use more birds in your hair, but that’s a personal preference, I guess πŸ˜‰
