Sunday Songs: Absence

I have scarcely left you
When you go in me, crystalline,
Or trembling,
Or uneasy, wounded by me
Or overwhelmed with love, as
when your eyes
Close upon the gift of life
That without cease I give you.

My love,
We have found each other
Thirsty and we have
Drunk up all the water and the
We found each other
And we bit each other
As fire bites,
Leaving wounds in us.

But wait for me,
Keep for me your sweetness.
I will give you too
A rose.

-Pablo Neruda

I think anyone who has ever done long distance knows it sucks. It absolutely and tremendously sucks. That said, you need to make the best of it with skype dates and thank god you don’t need to anxiously wait weeks before a response to a letter you just sent. On top of that, I have an incredibly awesome boyfriend who is coming to Manchester to travel with me in less than two months time.

Besides, I shouldn’t complain that I’m lucky enough to have seen as much of the world as I have at only 21.

Here are some photos from my trip to Warsaw:

Having LDR really hard sometime.but the moment when you meet him after months apart,it become the sweetest thing that you couldn’t describe.

    • Relationships would last longer and feel less mundane if society didn’t have this rule that people should be together at every available moment. “If he doesn’t want to be with me all the time it means he doesn’t love me.” Whatever to that lol.

  2. What’s the dumpling stuff? Or are they just normal dumplings?
Don’t I’d ever be able to do long distance. I think short distance is hard enough already!
But good luck and have fun!

    • They’re perogies! I guess you can say that they would be the Polish equivalent of dumplings. They’re very delicious and come in a variety of styles. This one is stuffed with spinach and is covered in blue cheese sauce. Thanks for the good wishes, just a few more weeks to go!

      • Has your boyfriend arrived already? Just curious 🙂

Neruda is one of my absolute favourites! I was an English Lit student as well and finished a few years back 🙂 Really like the style of your blog and looking forward to reading more!
