Hi!

My name is Laina and thank you so much for being interested in my blog! I am an English Literature Major at UBC, and am also obtaining my minor in History. I’ve grown up in Vancouver all my life, and I truly believe it is one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

I love reading and writing; I actually kind of like writing my many papers despite the panic-mode that I enter because I’ve been procrastinating. I hope to take my Masters in Journalism once I get my Bachelor’s done, and I’ve yet to decide what I’d like to focus on. Ultimately, I will consider myself lucky if I get to write for the rest of my life because then I’ll be doing what I love for the rest of my life.

I have an exceptionally close bond with my siblings whom I love very much and I was extremely lucky to have always had both of my parents at home while I was growing up (I love them too). I am full-Japanese, Okinawan, to be exact, and though my proficiency in the language is quite pathetic, I’d like to think that I still retain my cultural inheritance.

This blog is my medium for expression: through style and fashion, poetry, random topical musings, and whatever else I may feel like writing about. I hope you find it’s not too trivial but not too esoteric. Thank you so much for visiting!
